There’s Peace in the End

Ray Pechardo
Psalm 37:37 Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.

Sometimes when we are not walking with God, we tend to lose our focus on Him and what matters to Him. We get distracted by the things around us, the people that we see, and the problems that we all face.

We tend to question things that we know are right, and in our mind, we justify the things that we know are wrong! And if we’re not careful, we will even question God’s working in our life and why our situations are more difficult than those who are not even saved or not even serving the Lord. They can do whatever they desire with no restrictions and it seems like they have it easy! This scenario is what happened to ASAPH.

Psalm 73:1  A Psalm of Asaph. Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart. v.2  But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped. v.3  For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. v.4  For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm. v.5  They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men.

And not until he got right with God and His Word, did his perspective about life make sense again. God’s Word tell us that the wicked will soon have their reward, and it’s not going to be good!

Psalm 73:17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end. v.18 Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction. v.19 How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.

We must understand that what the Lord commands us to do will never make sense if we’re not walking with God and abiding in His Word. It will not make sense to live holy, to live pure, to dress right, to avoid sinful pleasures, and to live by faith! Our carnal flesh will always want us to compare ourselves with carnal things—even with those who claim to be Christians.

The Bible gives us many warnings about this:

Proverbs 23:17 Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long.

Psalm 37:1 A Psalm of David. Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

Proverbs 24:1 Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.

We must realize that although it’s not easy (and most of the time it is hard) to live the committed Christian life, when we decide to live it according to God’s principles, there will always be peace in the end. When it is all said and done, the REGRETS will also always surface in the end!

Psalm 37:37 Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace

Proverbs 23:17 Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long. v.18  For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.

Psalm 73:17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end. v.18 Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction. v.19 How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.

Psalm 37:1 A Psalm of David. Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. v.2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. v.3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
